Heart Support Australia is ideally placed to provide person-to-person support to people living with Cardiovascular Disease and their families and carers. Our support aims to reduce the ongoing burden of this disease and raise awareness to prevent incidence of secondary events. There is substantial evidence that providing peer support to consumers and assisting their families can significantly reduce the health, social and economic impact of Cardiovascular Disease in Australia (Deloitte: 2011). Around 25,000 heart attack survivors have been helped by Heart Support Australia since the patient group was first set up in 1986.
The success of our organisation is dependent on financial support from corporations and private sponsors.
We have many projects available for corporate sponsorship, including:
- The Red Book – a new patient resource to be provided to all Heart Support Australia members, which includes fact sheets, personalised health journey, important check-ups with GP and specialists, mental health resources.
- Second Chance Video – A digital education resource for patients with guidance from relevant experts in the field on how to implement life style changes post-diagnosis and post-surgery.
- Heart Health Support Service (HHSS) Volunteer Training – The HHSS program began in 1988 with the intention to provide peer support to patients pre and post-surgery and during and post cardiac rehabilitation programs run in hospitals as a complementary service to the medical team. Not as a supplement for professional services. Since 1988 HS-A has trained over 1000 volunteers across Australia and supported over 60,000 patients free of charge.
The aim of this project is to update the information and training provided to volunteers to current best practice models in line with current guidelines. Updating and expanding the existing training program to ensure that volunteers are trained by an accredited trainer.
- Website Development – Any organisation’s website is their ‘shopfront’ and for Heart Support – Australia it is often the first contact potential members have with us. The current website needs updating to be able to engage with these potential members and act as a platform to provide support to heart patients across Australia.
In return for your support, we can tailor an individual package to meet your organisational objectives for corporate partnerships. In the past we have provided opportunities for branding on our materials, social media shout-outs, press releases to all our contacts and access to patient input for any relevant media or promotions.
